Things to Do
Food
Our favorite Restaurants:
Crab Trap (smoked tuna dip is the best in town)
The Back Porch
McGuires (we have had their Irish food and sushi and both were great)
We like El Jalisco next to Bass Pro for Mexican Food Pizza -
Romeo's or Jets are both good local places
Donut Hole is great
The Yard Milkshake bar is fun, and lots of specialty shakes/ice cream
Entertainment
Beaches everywhere! Watch for the flags! Double red flag means you are not allowed to enter the water or they will fine you. If you find yourself at a time with 2 red flags, you can always go down to the coves down on the point by Harbor Village, there is public beach access down there. It is a bit of a drive, but there are fish swimming around, fun to snorkel.
Crab Island is always a fun time. You can rent a pontoon to take over there to park, or for a little more, you can charter a boat with a captain to take you there!
Fishing: Multiple fishing charter services are available.
Most boating activity will depart close to Harbor Village.
Towards the west closer to downtown Destin, there are many kids activities. Water parks, mini-golf, and go carts.
Fudpuckers has live alligators that you can feed and hold. We would recommend going to see the gators then go eat somewhere else...
Golf courses everywhere
In Sandestin, the Wharf is a fun place with restaurants and shopping.
Shopping
It is definitely easy to spend all your money in Destin...
Outlet shopping just a bit east at the end of the scenic highway
Higher-end shops located further east of Sandestin proper
Alvin's on every corner for souvenirs.
